NEWS:AY2019 SAISUA National health Insurance premium
Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020, 12: 50-13: 00 (room 128).
A ceremony was held for 16 international students who applied for National Health Insurance subsidies.
9,000 yen per applicant were given this time to SAISUA beneficiaries.
Due to the spring break, seven students could not attend this ceremony. They will be awarded by the secretariat at the OSIP office upon returning to Aizu.
At the beginning, President Julián said, "It's with great effort that we provide these subsidies, please keep up with the good work and participate actively in SAISUA activities"
NEWS:SAISUA-SLS International Food Donation Premium
On Friday, February 14, 2020 16: 30-16: 45 in conference room 128, a donation presentation ceremony was held by Student Life Support (SLS), who runs Rat-a-tat, the University of Aizu cafeteria.
SLS President Terushima thanked for SAISUA's cooperation in the "International food" project and donated 20,000 yen to SAISUA. He also presented "UoAizu coffee," a special coffee blended with beans from 25 countries representative of current faculty and students in the University of Aizu. This year, the main focus was on Burundi coffee, which cuisine was also featured in the "International food" project.
Mr. Terushima remembered in his speech the long-standing cooperation between SLS and the University of Aizu, such as part-time jobs for international students, student dormitories, etc.
Prof. Villegas thanked him for the donation, and took a commemorative photo with all the professors and international students who participated in this ceremony.

SAISUA provides international students with scholarships every six months so that they can concentrate on their studies. International students in need of financial support and demonstrating superior academic performance are selected as recipients of this scholarship.
SAISUA gave 90,000 yen for the students this time. They received a total of 180,000 for a semester. SAISUA President Julián Villegas explained the purpose of the scholarship and encouraged the scholarship recipients, saying "when you become a successful professional, remember these days of financial difficulties and help others in need, for example donating to SAISUA."

This menu was planned by Ms. Veranika Mikhailava and Mr. Khaustov Victor who are international students from Belarus. They wore t-shurts with the world and Belarus maps. This event was a great success.

Labo Party Aizu Area Branch: 40 members including 6 leaders
SAISUA was invited to Labo Party Aizu Area Branch's workshop for the second time. This year, we sent two students from Colombia and Nigeria. Those students made presentations about their countries and culture with slides. They brought traditional closing for Labo members' to try them on.
There presentations were followed by very active questions and answers session and demonstration of Salsa dance which is a popular dance in Colombia. Labo members were very excited and enjoyed to find out Colombian and Nigerian culture.
Labo Party was established in 1966 to help speaking skill development of children based on their mother language to nature rich sensitivity, imagination, expressive power of children through intercultural exchange programs. Members are formed from pre-k children to high school students with under leadership of adult sub-branch leaders.
Labo Party Aizu Area Branch donated to SAISUA
a total of 13,072 yen at the beginning of this workshop. 3,072 yen was donated from children's pocket money at the workshop in addition to a funds the branch prepared.
SAISUA invited them to So-Sho-Sai in October and we are invited to their Year-end Play in December which is Labo Party member's achievement presentation.

SAISUA gave the half of the total amount (90,000 yen) to the students this time.

News: AY 2018 SAISUA joined the School Festival
UoA School Festival "Soshosai" was held on October 6th - 7th, 2018, and SAISUA sold spanish tortilla at the festival.
Some International students, faculty staffs and other staffs of UoA cooperatied each other, and so many visiters came to the SAISUA booth.
A total of 243 tortillas were sold for 2 days, and sales reached a record high of 106,738 yen. SAISUA also sold 38 SAISUA original T-shirts.
Many peole not only buy the food but also gave a donation in the donation box which was set up the booth, and it reached 17,803 yen for 2 days.
We are extremely appreciate to everyone who helping and support us and visiting SAISUA booth!
