Donations of 16-kirogram bags of rice from living in Aizu-Wakamatsu City were made for international students studying at the University of Aizu through the Aizu Tonarigumi (International Cultural Relationship Citizens Association / Representative: Ms. Kayoko Iwahashi) on Thursday, August 10, 2009. Mr. Ishara Anupama received the rice from the Aizu Tonarigumi as a representative of international student body, and commented that "Since we have a lot of international students who eat rice as staple food, the donation of rice has been great support our life here in Aizu. I am appreciating the kindness of this contribution."
