- Anh T. Pham received a Ph.D. in Information and Mathematical Sciences from Saitama University, Japan, in 2005. Since April 2005, he has been on the faculty at the University of Aizu, where he is currently a Professor of Computer Communications. He also holds an adjunct professor position at Vietnam National University. He has received several awards, including an award from the Japan Sasagawa Foundation, a few best-paper awards, and the Japanese government scholarship (MonbuKagaku-sho) for PhD study.
Professor Pham's research interests are in the broad areas of communication theory and networking with a particular emphasis on modeling, design, and performance evaluation of broadband wired/wireless communication systems and networks. In particular, he has been involved in many research projects, focusing on enabling technologies and architecture for optical access networks, modeling and cross-layer design of ultra high-speed free-space optical communication networks, design, and development of visible light communication networks to support media transport, cognitive radio networks, video streaming and Internet of Things (IoT). He has authored/co-authored more than 200 peer-reviewed papers on these topics.
Professor Pham is a senior member of IEEE. He is also a member of IEICE and OSA. He is an active contributor to his professional societies. Over the years, he has served on the technical program committee of many international conferences and workshops in the communications and networking area. He also serves as a reviewer for various Transactions and Journals published by IEEE, OSA, IEICE, and Elsevier.
