"Welcome Party" for new faculty and staff members and international/Japanese students was held at Keyaki restaurant (2F the Student Hall) on Wednesday, Octover 31st, 2018. The event was jointly organized by Center for Globalization and SAISUA in spring and fall every year. There was a total of almost 100 participants including students and faculty staff. Since that day was Halloween, many people join with Halloween costume and it was a very gorgeous atmosphere. Mr. Atomu Sato and Mr. Satomi Nagata 2nd year undergraduate students, and Mr. Reon Namatame, 1st year undergraduate student took the role of the MC. At the beginning of the party, President Oka and President of the SAISUA Villegas gave welcome remarks, and new comers introduced themselves. There were various contents at the party, for example, Mr. Yuki Matsushita, 1st year undergraduate student introduced Global Lounge, and UoA Chorus team sang "Hail Holy Queen" and "Momiji" in front of the participants. At the end of the party, Vice-president Tei led the people to do "Ippon Jime" which is a traditional clapping ritual to honor the close of a formal event and the party ended in grant success. There were 20,340 JPY donations from the participants to SAISUA at the party. We greatly appreciate all of the support from the participants.
